Job Details

  • Schedule drivers and assign routes to maximize efficiency, productivity and customer service.
  • Communicate tactfully, and motivate employees.
  • Ensure efficient manpower and equipment utilization.
  • Proactively communicate with customers and sales department to determine transportation needs.
  • Organize and prioritize loads depending on customer needs and resource availability.
  • Enter assignment data in computer database.
  • Notify drivers of assigned work.
  • Assist with maintenance schedule compliance of the transport fleet.
  • Ensure complete compliance with D.O.T. regulations.
  • Adjusts Fuel Pricing as needed.
  • Generate and send out twice daily petroleum marketing communication’s closely with the Transportation Manager, Energy Manager, Office Manager, petroleum sales staff and drivers
  • Effectively communicate customer service and operational issues with the Transportation and Energy Managers in a timely manner
  • Documents actions by completing forms, documents and reports
  • Other duties, responsibilities and/or tasks as assigned
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Skill in observing situations analytically and objectively and relaying details accurately.
  • Working knowledge of tractor trailer trucks and equipment.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Laws (Oregon & Washington) pertaining to trucking and hazardous material distribution.
  • Knowledge of computer systems operations and associated software.
  • Maintains positive behaviors, approaches, attitudes and commitments to interpersonal service in regard to customers, visitors and coworkers.
  • High school graduate.
  • Dispatching and/or driver supervision.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Some dust, noise, and outside work.
