Job Details

Replenishment:

  • Generates True Value replenishment orders for all categories.
  • Maintains PO accuracy, keeping expected delivery dates, costs and order quantities current until PO finalization.
  • Tracks PO’s to receipt and communicates status to cross-functional partners as needed.
  • Coordinates and communicates with True Value the Wilco inventory projections to secure promotional and seasonal needs.
  • Monitors in-stock and communicates status updates for high-risk or chronic out of stock situations.
  • Utilizes vendor knowledge, performance trend, seasonality and historical sales data to confirm the appropriateness of calculated SKU order points and to evaluate suggested order quantities.
  • Coordinates changes to department order point calculation rules with the Sr. Inventory Planner.
  • Audits order point effectiveness, forecast accuracy and in-stock for new SKUs, new stores and trending items.
  • Executes orders for resets and new stores, tracks deliveries and escalates in-stock risks.
  • Responsible for promotional item in-stock of True Value sourced items: documents & addresses inventory risks prior to final proof and executes timely order placement & tracking to ensure product is in stores a minimum 2 weeks prior to the promotion.
  • Executes Reunion and other True Value promotional buys with coordination of the appropriate Product Merchant to maximize sales, margin, promotional, and rebate opportunities.
  • Coordinates all True Value seasonal and/or promotional inventory that will go through the DC.

Inventory Productivity/Control:

  • Tracks incoming True Value seasonal inventory value and sales performance to planned and projected inventory levels.
  • Ensures planned purchases are appropriate to achieve sales plan and align with ending inventory targets.
  • Tracks excess True Value inventory and collaborates with the category team to deploy inventory reduction tactics as needed.
  • Provides actionable recommendations for exiting discontinued or ‘non-go forward’ inventory.
  • Monitors KPIs and communicates status to the team – excess inventory, in-stock, turn and open to buy metrics.
  • Investigates and responds to store inventory concerns and feedback via email.
  • Monitors store shelf overstock, assesses True Value order multiples and partners with the Merchandise Analyst to utilize POG data to set max capacity replenishment constraints on high overstock risk items.
  • Monitors stocking levels on high consumable & “project” items, ensuring changes are properly recorded according to the ‘Job Lot Inventory Management’ process and tracking over time for effectiveness.
  • Tracks daily in-stock levels for assigned categories and takes immediate action to mitigate lost sales, ordering out of cycle or from a different RDC where necessary to maintain service level expectations and achieve in-stock goals.
  • Communicates chronic OOS issues and coordinates alternate vendor ordering per documented ‘Vendor Protocol’ (including alignment with PM, IP & coordination with the MA to ensure file maintenance reflects exceptions).

File/POG Maintenance: 

  • Completes all file maintenance functions for True Value items and programs.
  • Executes the New Item Set Up Process for True Value items, ensuring all new items are set up completely and accurately.
  • Manages & completes projects to update system settings, values or parameters amongst existing True Value items.
  • Audits fulfillment flag settings and other data points for accuracy in the system.
  • Updates and maintains user codes as directed to assist in exception-based fulfillment ordering in new markets.
  • Coordinates the conversion of True Value supplied POG’s to Wilco’s POG platform.
  • Drives assortment accuracy by ensuring all items expected to be in each store are in a POG assigned to the store.
  • Drives POG integrity by keeping sets updated based on defined process parameters and trigger events.
  • Removes discontinued items from POGs upon status change and adds new item replacements to POGs.
  • Analyzes the balance of space amongst each item in a POG and appropriately redistributes space when needed.
  • Monitors unavailable and out of season SKUs in active POGs and communicates with team to reset or review.

Special Orders:

  • Reviews the special-order report daily, converts estimates to orders, confirms availability with True Value, communicates status to stores when necessary.
  • Monitors, measures and executes the special-order report and processes to ensure timely replenishment.

Other True Value Specific responsibilities:

  • Be the primary Wilco contact for all True Value product, program, and system questions.
  • Track and communicate regular updates on Wilco’s progress toward all rebate levels and communicate to Wilco Merchandise and Inventory Management as requested.
  • Actively utilize Wilco reporting tools to identify significant products and/or programs not currently bought from True Value and work with TV/Wilco PM’s to get these items/programs switched as a way to grow our partnership and achieve vendor consolidation goals.

Other Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following: 

  • Participates in weekly meetings and attends store walks as needed.
  • Generate & publish reporting & analysis to inform the business, per direction from management.
  • Complete special assigned projects and assist in training new team members.

And other duties, responsibilities and/or tasks as assigned.

  • Excellent understanding of retail math, strong analytical skills and high math aptitude.
  • Expert understanding of replenishment and inventory system concepts required. Epicor expertise preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Strong Excel Skills.
  • Must have a proven ability to problem solve, perform under pressure, and prioritize effectively to carry out duties and achieve goals.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, be assertive and collaborative, and perform well on a team.
  • 5 + years total retail experience.
  • 3+ years in a data analysis, demand forecasting, inventory planning, or merchandising position required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in inventory planning or merchandising.
  • Able to sit and work at a keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • This position is remote, but office space is located at Wilco’s distribution center in Donald, OR.
