Job Details

  • Participate in company financial planning and budget management functions.
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of business units and departments.
  • Prepare, monitor, and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
  • Manage debt service payments with external financial institutions.
  • Oversee daily operations of the accounting department and staff for general ledger and accounts payable.
  • Manage the preparation of the official annual report of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses.
  • Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax, tax planning, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage and direct the fixed asset accounting process.
  • Manage the cash flow process.
  • Coop patronage and revolve allocations and payments
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives.
  • Direct and manage internal and external financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
  • Design, monitor, and test internal controls to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested by the CFO.

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
  • Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Retail finance and accounting experience desirable.
  • Manufacturing finance and accounting experience desirable.
  • Coop Supply Chain knowledge and experience are desirable.
  • This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a BS Degree in Accounting, 5 to 10 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, and/or a CPA (preferred).
  • Working conditions are normal for a remote/office hybrid environment.
  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
